Acer griseum - January

Image of peeling bark on Acer griseum

A superb small tree for spectacular peeling bark. Acer griseum is mainly grown for it's peeling bark. It has spectacular peeling bark during winter and early spring. The foliage colour in Autumn is orange and red - depending upon soil type.

Pruning is not necessary for this small tree. It should be planted in correct position - allowing for ultimate height  and spread of approx 4-5 metres across with age. Can be planted in full sun - or with dappled shade, such as a wooded glade.

Any soil type will do, but seems best in well drained light soils.
