Hedera colchica dentata Aurea, is one of the more flamboyant Ivies. large leaves with splashes of creamy yellow variegation, make this one of the most popular of the oft-maligned Ivy group. Certainly not a weed, this Ivy has many garden uses. Sometimes known as Hedera colchica Denata Variegata.
The flowers are a little insignificant - though loved by honey bees. the foliage is bright throughout the year - rarely suffering any winter damage - though sometimes can be scorched in constant hot sun.
It is self-clinging to more or less any support, and is superb trained up a tree, trellis or along a garden wall.
Propagation is relatively easy - either with soft wood tip cuttings, or by layering a few shoots along the ground. Don't be fooled into taking a shoot off that has the aerial roots. It will rarely grow from these.
