Callicarpa bodinieri var giraldii Profusion - The Beauty Berry
October 21st

Callicarpa bodinieri Profusion is a medium size shrub (1.5m x 1.5m). The summer flowers are insignificant compared to the violet berries borne throughout the autumn. It is happy in most fertile soils, and equally happy in full sun or dappled shade.

Callicarpa bodinieri is an easily grown shrub invaluable for it's autumn - fall - and winter berries.

Pruning method involves cutting out around one third of all older stems - right back to ground level each year in the Spring. This will ensure that your Callicarpa always has plenty of 'rejuvenated- stems, which in turn will ensure maximum berrying.

New plants can be raised by softwood cuttings in the spring, or with semi ripe cuttings in late summer. The latter will respond best to a little bottom heat - such as with a heated propagator.

There are no specific pests or diseases for this group. Frost hardy
