SUNDAY 20 MAY

The garden at Kitchenham is a typical English country garden set among old

(unconverted) traditional farm buildings, with beautiful views to the South Downs as a backdrop.

It was very neglected when the Worssams moved in and has evolved over the last 25 years

to what it is today.   In the creation there was a battle between shelter and views.

The views won and stretch 20 miles to the South Downs.   The curving borders are

full of tall herbaceous plants and include poppies, roses, delphiniums, etc;

a cacophony of colour for most of the spring and summer.

A fine example of a ‘ha ha’ separates the garden from the fields and the sheep.
