Most shrubs are grown for their flowers, but there is a huge range of shrubs which have the right to be grown simply because of their foliage characteristics.

In this section, we try to redress the balance and persuade you to try a few of the shrubs which are worth growing just for their foliage colours. Some also for their foliage form and shape.

Many of the foliage shrubs will of course have flowers as well, but it is the foliage of the shrub which interests us in this section.
