Tim & Gina's Garden - Birling - Ryarsh - Kent. 

The garden means so much to us, in so many different ways that it’s difficult to know where to start.  And we literally had no idea where to start when we moved in ten years ago.  Just over an acre of garden surrounded by nearly 200 mature leylandii trees, we didn’t know what had hit us that first summer.

It’s been the help and support of some knowledgeable and kind friends that has proved one of the real joys.  That and watching the changes over the years – understanding that we give the kick start and that nature does the rest.  That’s where the wide eyed wonder comes in.  And the hard work – well, yes.  Especially when someone presses the 'grass grow' button in May/June!

But now the east and west boundaries are virtually leylandii free and the light is fantastic.  Lots and lots of new and interesting trees take their place and shrubs and flowers thrive in areas that were dark and dank.  What a playground!
